Cuisine Quest The date harvest in Southern California is in full swing from September through December, making it the perfect time to make date nut bread. Beverly Phelan sent in her favorite recipe, published several years ago in The Tribune. She has used it many times and believes the quick bread is as good as the version Virginia Rainey remembers eating at the counter at the old Auerbach’s Department store.
