  • 8 states require hearing aid assistance for kids
    Across the country, some states are starting to acknowledge the critical need for hearing aids, passing legislation to mandate that private insurance companies provide some level of coverage. Seven states have laws mandating help for children, while Kentucky requires coverage for both children and adults.

  • Gas prices don't worry tourist industry
    Looking ahead to Memorial Day weekend that marks the beginning of the summer travel season, workers in the travel and tourist industry say rising gasoline prices don't worry them. "The gas prices haven't affected any of our events this year," said Callie Tranter, an administrative assistant at the Moab Travel Council outside Arches National Park.

  • Sorenson Capital joins with Kiddie Kandids
    Sorenson Capital, a private equity fund headquartered in Salt Lake City, announced Monday that it has become an investment partner in Sandy-based Kiddie Kandids. Steve Young, co-founder and managing partner at Sorenson, said the agreement was finalized last month. Details, including the size of the investment, were not disclosed.
